Fergus Rovers A.G.M (04-01-12)
Fergus Rovers will hold its annual general meeting in Frure Gaa meeting room on Friday 20th of January 9pm. All players, parents, mentors and supporters are reqested to attend. Also anyone wishing to get involved in the club are more than welcome.
U12s Presentations (03-01-12)
A great night had by all in Frure Gaa Club house for the presentation of the U12 shield medals. Chairman John O Malley welcomed all and thanked mentors Joan Clohessy and Mark Mullins for training the team during the year. The clubs childrens officer Christina Hill presented the medals to the players and the night was complete with D. J Garry Hill keeping young and old on the floor for the night.(see pictures on photos sections more photos 3).
U12 Medal Presentation (31-12-11)
The Fergus Rovers u 12s panel will be presented with there Shield medals on Monday 2nd of January in Frure Gaa Grounds from 6.30pm to 8pm.
Fergus Rovers hunted the wren on St. Stephens day with three crews covering the Lissycasey, Ballnacally, Caherea and parts of Ballyea area. There was a great turn out with up to fifty people helping out on the day from musicians, collectors and drivers. A big thank you to all who feed us on our way and who supported us which is one of our main fundraisers of the year. (see photos on photo section page 8).
Minors (Dec 11)
The management of the Fergus Rovers minors organised a day trip to Limerick on Ice for reaching the final earlier in the year. A great day had by all.
Hunting the Wren (21-12-11)
Fergus Rovers will again hunt the Wren on St. Stephens day and plan to have four crews on the road your support would be greatly appreciated.
Fundamental Coaching Course (21-12-11)
The Clare Ladies Football Board are hosting a fundamental coaching course on Saturday January 14th (possibly at Gurteen).
Fundamentals is the first step on the coaching ladder and is designed by coaches for coaches. A minimum of 20 and a maximum of 30 particants are required. To book please contact County Development Officer Michael Edwards Murphy (kilrushladiesfootball.com). The cost per person will be approx 25 euro and a light lunch will be provided.
Details of Clare Ladies A.G.M (15-12-11)
Alan Copley (The Banner) is the new Clare ladies football chairman taking over from Fergus Rovers Johnny Hayes, Johnny is now the vice chairman. Trudy Davenport From the Doora-Barefield club is the new Treasurer.
Delegates to Munster Council were elected with Alan Copley and Michael Fitzpatrick along with a County player which will be selected at the January meeting will represent Clare.
Fergus Rovers Mary Keane and Christina Hayes are the central council delegates for next year.
Motions and recommedations in relation to competion structures was deferred until the January meeting.
An existing rule in relation to teams playing unregistered players was amended last weekend a a Special Rules Congress in Croke park comes in to force for 2012. Clubs that plays an unregistered player will be fined 100 euro per player per offence and certain club officers may be suspended and the clubs concerned may be fined up to 5000 euro.
Clare Ladies A.GM (12-12-11)
The Clare Ladies Annual General Meeting takes place Tuesday evening December 13th in the West County Hotel at 7pm. Chairman Johnny Hayes and Treasurer Christy O Connor will not be seeking relection.
Former Fergus Rovers player to manage County Seniors (07-12-11)
On Dec. 6th Noelle Comyn was appointed manager of the Co. Senior side for the year ahead. As a player Noelle has won numerous titles down through the years both in Football and Camogie at both club and county level in her native Clare and since 04 in Dublin where she is now based. Her football honours in the Banner county include nine senior championships with Fergus Rovers as well as Div. 1,2 and 3 National League medals, an All Ireland Junior title in 91, 2 All Ireland B championships, a Munster Senior championship in 01 the same year that she was selected as an All Star.
Since her move to the capital she has won four Dublin Senior Club Championships, 3 Leinster Senior Club titles and two All Ireland Senior club titles with Ballyboden St. Enda's while with Dublin county she played in the All Ireland senior finals of 04 and 09 in her customary fullback position losing both to Galway and Cork while she was also an All Star nominee in 09. She finally won an All Ireland senior title with Dublin last year when they defeated Tyrone in Croke Park but a knee injury sustained against Clare in the All Ireland quarter final meant she could play no further part in the remainder of the campaign.
It is the first time in ladies football here in Clare that a former county player has been appointed to this position. Noelle succeeds David O'Brien from Miltown Malbay who stepped down a few weeks ago having served on the management set up for four years the final two of which he was manager. Well done to David for his dedicated service and good luck to Noelle and the Clare team in 2012! Clare will begin their National League Div. 2 campaign on Feb. 5th at home to Waterford (see co. section for full list of league fixtures).
Fergus Rovers girls on Clare U 11 Development Squad (26-11-11)
Alanah Hanrahan, Lauren Hill, Aine Slattery, Eimear Stephens have completed a twelve week program with the Clare U 11 Development Squad. They finished off their campaign by defeating Kerry in the final of the Annual P.J. O'Halloran Tournament hosted at Kilrush by the Clare Ladies Football Board. Well done girls from all in Fergus Rovers.
Fergus Rovers girls on Clare U 13 Development Squad (26-11-11)
Ava O'Malley and Aine McSweeney have just completed a ten week program with the Clare U 13 Development Squad. On their final day they took part in the Munster Blitz at Rathkeale where they played against Development Squads from the other Munster counties. Club members Aine Kelly and Johnny Hayes were mentors with this group.
Fergus Rovers girls on Clare U 15 Development Squad (26-11-11)
Ciara Hartigan and Shauna Hill were on the Clare U 15 Development Squad who have also completed their program. Edel Carmody Malone was a mentor with this group.

Well Done to Sarah Mullins who was part of the Clare U12 Panel in the annual Michael Cullinan Inter County Tournament played in Gurteen.
Minor heart break (23-10-11)
Heart break for Fergus Rovers Minors when they were beaten by Eire Og in the Division 3 championship final in Clarecastle on Sunday 23rd October. Played in very bad weather conditions with heavy rain and strong wind Rovers went in at the break just one point down and having played some good foootball. There was very little between the two teams who were level on several occasions, with time up Rovers led by two points and things looked good, however Eire Og had other ideas and well into injury time they stuck for the all important goal to win by two points. Rovers were managed and well orgainised by Edel Carmody-Malone, Joe Carrigg, Aine Kelly and Christina Hill. Edel's husband Alan managed the winning Eire Og team.The panel of players is as follows Jackie Lynch, Fionnaula Nagle, Rebecca Hill, Ciara Hartigan, Eimear O Shea, Aoibhinn Killeen, Rachel Hill, Louise Griffin, Jackie Coughlan, Emily Cahill, Aoife Clohessy, Zara Hill, Lauren Griffin, Ciara O Malley, Jenny Maher, Aine McSweeney, Orla McSweeney Meave McCarthy, Shauna Hill, Miriam Daly,Ava O Malley and captain Grainne McCarthy.
Congratulations to the U12s who defeated Wolfe Tones in the Div. 3 Shield Final at Cusack Park on September 13th. The girls were nine points down at half time 3-1 to 0-1 but played very well in the second half scoring 2-7 to win by three points. The final score was Fergus Rovers 2-8 Wolfe Tones 3-2. Well done to their mentors Mark Mullins (manager) and Joan Clohessy.

Forecast the Score
Thanks to all players and club officials who were involved in selling lines to Forecast the Score for the men's All Ireland Final in which Dublin beat Kerry 1-12 to 1-11. There were two winners with the correct score. Congratulations to Lisa Hill (U8 player) and Carmel Hehir, Dromeliy, Cree.
Senior County title for Banner Ladies. (03-09-11)
Banner Ladies were crowned Clare Senior Football Champions for 2011 when they defeated the holders West Clare Gaels 1-14 to 1-13 at Doonbeg on September 3rd.
Website Launch (23-06-11)
Fergus Rovers launched their new Website on Thursday 23-06-11 in Frure pitch. A large crowd of players, parents, and families attended on the evening. Clare FM, and the Clare Champion were both present and photos were taken by David Dillon. Club P.R.O Mary Keane introduced the new website and explained all while Club Chairman John O Malley thanked all who attended and all who helped to organise the evening with special mention for Nollaig Griffin who had spent many hours in her studio. Johnny Hayes, Clare Ladies Football Chairman also spoke and congratulated the club on the new website. Also in attandance werer County Secetary, Michael Fitzpatrick and his wife Biddy, County Treasurer, Christy O Connor, Assistant Treasurer, Mary Kenny and County underage P.R.O Alan Copley.
